Position Summary

The Psychologist will provide assessment, psychotherapy, counseling and support for patients and families with spine, pain or co-morbid psychological issues.

Required Qualifications

Doctorate Degree in Psychology from an APA approved clinical program. Must be licensed to practice as an independent practitioner of Clinical Psychology in the State of Kansas. At least two years supervised experience (including internship/post-doctoral fellowship).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the diagnostic assessment and treatment of patients; leading psycho-educational treatment groups for patients and families; and working collaboratively with other medical professionals and social service agencies is preferred. Research experience and publications are desirable.

Provide assessment, psychotherapy, counseling and support for patients and families with spine, pain or co-morbid psychological issues.

Provide individual and group psychotherapy with patients and families.

Provide a clinical practice that provides an excellent educational experience for psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows, if assigned, in areas of psychologist’s expertise in clinical settings.

Work collaboratively with nurses, physicians and other medical personnel.

Maintain a productive clinical practice in the ambulatory spine center to generate departmental income to offset cost basis.

Description of Job Duty

Work effectively with other clinical services and outside collaborating facilities to facilitate interaction and harmony in the Department and effective continuum of patient care and follow-up.

Maintain flexibility regarding clinical assignments to further the best interests of the Department as a whole.

Description of Job Duty

Participate in Department activities, faculty meetings, other hospital and medical school committees as assigned, Grand Rounds and collaborate in clinical activities and research with other faculty, continuous performance improvement, etc.
