Position Summary

Director of Anatomic Pathology (tenured or non-tenure clinical scholar track).

Required Qualifications

Board certification in AP or AP/CP with at least eight years of recent experience in surgical pathology

More than three years of recent experience in a leadership role

A strong academic background including a track record of publishing, leadership ability and administrative skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Subspecialty expertise in gynecologic pathology and/or bone and soft tissue pathology preferred

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Serving as the department leader for interactions with Health Care System Leadership, departmental Chair, extra-departmental faculty, and Health Care System laboratory managers to address issues that affect the proper functioning of the AP division

Description of Job Duty

Manage a subspecialty-based anatomic pathology practice while providing medical direction for anatomic pathology technical facilities

Description of Job Duty

Actively participate in the subspecialty services

Consultation with physicians and provider clients

Description of Job Duty

Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements, including maintenance of certification by the College of American Pathologists, CLIA, State, and Federal regulations

Actively engage in publications, presentations and local and national meetings. Ensure collaboration between the research and clinical service divisions to promote collaborative research endeavor

Description of Job Duty

Teach medical students, pathology residents and fellows

Description of Job Duty

Additional duties as may be assigned by department chair.
