Position Summary

Building upon its well-established undergraduate CLS programs, the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Kansas Medical Center is starting a doctoral program in clinical laboratory science (DCLS). With an implementation date of fall 2019, the DCLS program will prepare graduates for advanced practice as members of innovative interprofessional healthcare teams, as well as provide research opportunities for department faculty. The department’s programs include learning experiences and interprofessional practice simulation with students from other healthcare-related programs. A state-of-the-art education and simulation building has recently been dedicated: To support our goals, we are seeking a new faculty member who will contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences invites applicants as a tenure or non-tenure track (depending on qualifications) Assistant Professor with a Fall 2018 start date (negotiable).

Required Qualifications

The position requires a doctoral degree in a CLS-appropriate discipline, MLS/MT (ASCP) certification, demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly, and to work effectively with others. Applicants must have relevant work experience in a hospital-based clinical laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications

It is preferred that applicants have teaching experience in an academic-based NAACLS-accredited clinical laboratory science education program, and MB (ASCP) certification.
