Position Summary

This is a one year fellowship, encompassing a full spectrum of Head and Neck ablative and reconstructive cases as well as interdisciplinary management of the head and neck cancer patients. Clinical and research involvement.

Required Qualifications

Admission to the fellowship is contingent upon completion of one of the ACGME-approved residencies in otolaryngology, plactic surgery or general surgery and eligibility to sit for a board examination in applicant’s respective specialty.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Involved as a primary or assisting surgeon on all microvascular reconstructive cases as well as skull base cases.

Description of Job Duty

Acts as a teaching physician or as a second assistant to a resident during the more straightforward part of a complex head and neck resection, or routine cases such as uncomplicated neck dissections, thyroidectomies, and parotidectomies.

Description of Job Duty

On each particular rotation, follows the pre-operative as well as post-operative course of the head and neck patients who were first seen in clinci and then operated on.

Participates in adult ENT call pool of ten faculty members, taking staf call no more than one in eleven weeks.

Supervises residents on call and serves as an attending surgeon for emergent procedures during the on call time.

Has didactic teaching responsibilities including resident/medical student lectures and one or two presentations at Grand Rounds.

Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
