Position Summary

The position will provide clinical services on the adult psychiatry unit, provide ambulatory services, provide clinical services via telehealth and provide supervision to psychiatry trainees.

Required Qualifications

Medical Degree. Graduate of U.S. accredited residency program in Psychiatry. American board of Psychiatry/Neurology certified/eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting. Research experience compatible with success in pursuit of extramural funding. Knowledge of University policies and procedures is helpful.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Conduct a clinical practice that provides an excellent educational experience for psychiatry residents and students.

Description of Job Duty

Supervise resident physicians and students as assigned to the inpatient service; maintain a faculty clinical practice in the outpatient clinics, and/or outreach site or develop a productive forensic psychiatry consultation practice.

Work effectively with Consult Liaison, Emergency Room and Adult Outpatient services to facilitate interaction and harmony in the Department and effective continuum of patient care and follow up; participate in clinical and administrative on-call activities as assigned.

Maintain flexibility regarding clinical assignments to further the best interest of the department.

Collaboration in research and clinical activities with other psychiatry faculty, periodic weekend coverage, Continuous Performance Improvement, etc. is required.

Participate in Medical School and Department committees as needed. Participate in departmental activities, faculty meetings, other hospital and medical school committees as assigned, and grand rounds.

In addition, pursuit of academic endeavors, including research, drug studies, publications, presentations, and outside funding is highly desirable.
