Incumbent will perform research Center project administrative duties, at the direction of a Research Professor.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or other relevant field
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience as a study coordinator or research manager in a professional environment
• Expert in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to interact in a positive manner with faculty, students and external organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in research administration or other relevant discipline
• Expert in Microsoft Project
• Experience in higher education setting
• Experience in managing websites and social media

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Center Coordinator Duties (15%)
• Develop annual Center budget projections and projected revenue
• Schedule Center-hosted meetings, including seminars, administrative meetings, affiliated faculty meetings, annual retreats, and invited speaker symposia
• Maintain Center social media accounts and update content of Center web page

Description of Job Duty

Research Administration Duties (40%):
• Review, interpret and track KUMC monthly project financial reports (e.g., AM 91/91s)
• Prepare routine, standardized performance reports for sponsors, reviewed by principal investigators
• Prepare projected invoice amounts for sponsors
• Manage documentation of changes in scope for sponsored projects, alternation of project timelines, and changes in funding for projects as task orders are increased or decreased
• Under direction of the principal investigator (PI), develop and manage project work plans, to promote the on-time delivery of research products
• Document the status of documents submitted to the Institutional Review Board, such as project protocols, lists of project staff, and project amendments
• Manage the daily schedule: Manage professor’s calendar Schedule meetings, resolve meeting conflicts Make arrangements for telephone, webinar and video conference calls Produce, organize and distribute meeting materials.
• Manage travel arrangements Make travel reservations and create an organized packet of travel documents in advance of trips. Following travel, or other expenditures, organize receipts and submit them for reimbursement
• Prepare official visit itineraries and plan team retreats and other events

Research Assistant Duties (25%)
• Assist in project data collection, by being the point person for subjects (organizations) to contact, provide technical assistance to subjects under direction from the PI, track data submission from individual sites so that data are submitted in a timely fashion, enter data, combine spreadsheets, and proof data others have entered, assists with completion of final reports to sponsors and subjects.
• Create questionnaires in REDCap or Survey Monkey
• Use Microsoft Power Point and Excel to prepare presentations, charts, and graphs

Grant and Contract Proposal Duties (15%)
• Routinely monitor potential sponsor organizations for new calls for proposals
• Record and Track publications and presentations by Center faulty
• Update and maintain lists and copies of faculty publications and presentations
• Support the preparation of grant proposals by: maintaining latest versions of faculty CVs and NIH biosketches, Institutional Resource Statements, preparing budgets, initiating consulting agreements, gathering consortium agreements, generating consulting forms, etc.

Other Duties as assigned including but not limited to: (5%)
• Assist with setup and maintenance of Blackboard for NSRG Research Graduate Course
• Assist Academic Affairs with tasks for the Faculty Professional Development Committee.
• Record and Track publications and presentations by Center faulty
• Order and track purchase of supplies, books, and software for Center faculty
• Manage the PIs daily calendar: schedule meetings, resolve meeting conflicts
• Manage travel arrangements for Center faculty: make travel reservations and create an organized packet of travel documents in advance of trips, prepare trip documentation, organize receipts and submit them for reimbursement.
• Purchase supplies and other items using Market Place software: ensure correct account is billed and that the invoice is documented with requisition information.
• Monitor the PIs incoming communication and provide notification of urgent matters. Run errands on the KUMC campus as requested by the PI
