Position Summary

Only internal applicants will be considered.
Assist in performing cellular and molecular and genetic studies to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) progression to Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. These studies will utilize a combination of in vivo and in vitro experimental model systems.

Required Qualifications

B.S. degree in biology, biochemistry or related sciences. No previous research experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

General knowledge of histology, previous experience in biomedical research. One to two years previous laboratory experience with molecular biology and cell biology techniques.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Recruiting, screening and consenting patients for collection of primary breast tissue that is used in utilizing mouse models and performing in vivo analysis to study molecular mechanisms of invasion in primary DCIS cells and cell lines.

Description of Job Duty

Generation of molecular biology tools to study DCIS. Histological staining and imaging of DCIS slides. Analysis of data and planning future experiments. Immaculate record keeping of data and reagents.

Description of Job Duty

Organizing and record keeping of data from research for writing manuscripts and presentations at scientific meetings. Revision to approval of human subjects protocol and consent forms as well as compliance forms.

Description of Job Duty

Regular presentation and discussion of data with the superior and follow instructions related to the scientific projects.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
