The Simulation Technician is an entry level position and will provide flexible assistance to faculty, simulation education specialists, and simulation technologists in the design and delivery of simulation programming as assigned. In addition, this position will assist with media production and AV integration activities as instructed by simulation technologist.

This person will be trained to operationalize and execute the delivery of simulation details to ensure programming runs smoothly. This includes the ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment, including but not limited to: manikins, specialized AV hardware/software, computer hardware, and clinical equipment.

Physical effort, including moving or lifting heavy objects (e.g. manikins), is frequently necessary. Extended periods of standing may be necessary.

This is an unclassified non-exempt position reporting to the Senior Simulation Technologist.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in academic institution.

• Experience in simulation.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Description of Job Duty

Key roles and responsibilities in delivery of Simulation Programming

• Operate simulation and clinical equipment.

• Create checklists for simulation programming under the direction of the simulation education specialists.

• Set-up of all rooms, materials, facilities and documentation for simulations. Includes moulage and medication making for simulations based upon the defined curriculum and under the direction of the simulation education specialists.

• Clean-up and assist with ordering supplies and re-stocking after simulation activities.

• Program software to model simulator’s physiological response to instructor specifications.

• Provide routine maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of simulation equipment.

• Responsible for technical support of all center hardware/software.

• Special technical projects as assigned.
