Position Summary


Adjunct Clinical Instructors teach online courses offered by the Department of Health Information Management (HIM) to undergraduate students in the online HIM Bachelor of Science degree completion option and healthcare management minor programs. Candidates hired into this limited term (e.g. semester-length position teaching a 3 credit hour course) position may be eligible for longer term 9-month contract appointments based on performance review at the completion of a semester of instruction. This is an adjunct position and courses taught by Adjunct Clinical Instructors are based on departmental need. Multiple hires will be made from this posting.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching undergraduate courses, including in community college or university settings
  • An undergraduate degree in health information management, health informatics, business, healthcare administration, or similar discipline
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential
  • Previous experience teaching online courses
  • Familiarity with online course technologies such as learning management systems and lecture capture systems
  • Graduate degree in health information management, health informatics, business, healthcare administration, or similar discipline
