Position Summary

This is a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Medicine with a focus on obesity treatment, integrated primary care, provider training models, and rural health disparities. The Fellow will receive clinical and research training focused on lifestyle intervention, behavioral medicine delivery models, clinical trial design, community-based research, and implementation science. The position includes publication and grant writing opportunities as well as time for clinical hours toward psychology licensure requirements. The Fellow will be involved with all stages of federally-funded behavioral clinical trials. The position also includes supervision and training of multidisciplinary masters- and doctoral-level interventionists, opportunity for clinical licensure hours, and some project coordination activities. We encourage applicants who have a doctorate in clinical or counseling health psychology.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Health, Nutrition, Exercise Science, or related discipline. Rigorous training in behavioral science and research methods. Knowledge of databases, analytic software, and statistical methods. Demonstrated competence in critical thinking, scientific writing, and oral presentation skills. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and take a lead role on projects and papers, under supervision and guidance of the Principal Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications

Training and experience in counseling skills and behavioral medicine. Clinical and/or research experience in primary care settings, obesity etiology and treatment, physical activity intervention, and/or cancer prevention and survivorship. Ability to actively participate in the successful planning, execution, publication, and presentation of research.
