Position Summary

Physician will work as a Consult/Liaison Psychiatrist providing direct patient care in the Persistent Pain Management clinic, as well as other Consultation/Liaison duties.

Required Qualifications

MD, DO or equivalent with ABP Board Certification/Board eligibility in General Psychiatry. Graduate of US accredited residency program in Psychiatry. The candidate must hold a medical license (or e eligible for licensure) in the State of Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications

Training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Fellowship in Pain Management of Psychosomatic Medicine is preferred. Experience in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting and previous academic experience is desirable.

Job Duties

Provide direct patient care in the Consultation/Liaison service areas, particularly the Persistent Pain Management Clinic.

Maintain a productive clinical practice at the Medical Center or outreach site which provides a robust educational experience for psychiatry resident physicians, psychology trainees and students.

Description of Job Duty

Supervise and educate resident physicians, psychology trainees and students in areas of physician’s expertise in didactic lectures and in clinical settings.

Description of Job Duty

Work effectively within the Persistent Pain Management Clinic, Adult Outpatient and Inpatient programs and with external agencies to facilitate continuity of patient care and follow up.

Develop and/or continue academic pursuits consistent with the academic mission.

Participate in clinical and administrative on-call activities including ECT and weekend call rotations.

Participate in and contribute to continuous performance improvements processes.

Collaborate in research and clinical activities with other faculty.

Maintain flexibility regarding clinical assignments in the best interest of the department.

Participate in departmental committees and activities, faculty meetings, and in hospital and medical school committees.
