Position Summary

This position provides clinical care in the Newborn/Inpatient service line, and participates in development of the curriculum and education of the residents in the newborn/inpatient environment. Our team is the primary teaching faculty in inpatient/newborn pediatrics for our residents and medical students.

Required Qualifications

MD/DO Degree
Kansas Licensure
Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience teaching in an academic setting

Job Duties

Provide direct patient care for newborn/inpatient patients

Description of Job Duty

Equitable participation in holiday, weekend and call coverage.

Description of Job Duty

Work in conjunction with pediatric subspecialists, including anesthesia, cardiology, critical care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, neurology, nephrology, oncology, orthopedics, radiology, and surgery, to provide effective and co-managed newborn/inpatient care

Description of Job Duty

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities to improve efficiency and clinical care for patients.

Description of Job Duty

Maintain board certification in pediatrics.

Description of Job Duty

Participate in curriculum development for the inpatient rotations, assuring that ACGME standards are met.

Description of Job Duty

Educate, supervise, and participate in the evaluation process of residents, medical students, and other allied health trainees.

Attend and actively participate in division and departmental meetings

Description of Job Duty

Serve on selected departmental and hospital committees as requested by the division chief or chair.
