Position Summary

Primary activity of this position is to practice child/adolescent psychiatry in both outpatient and inpatient settings with teaching responsibilities.

Rank dependent upon qualifications. Instructor or higher.

Required Qualifications

Board certified in Psychiatry

Board certified or eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Kansas

Current DEA certificate

Eligible for hospital privileges at Via Christi

Good standing with the State Board of Healing Arts

Preferred Qualifications

Child/Adolescent psychiatric clinical experience in an academic setting and demonstrated abilities in teaching

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Clinical Services: Inpatient and/or Outpatient
Provide on call coverage and weekend rounds as per rotation schedule with other faculty in the department in accordance with department policy

Participate in coverage for other faculty as needed and according to availability

Lead or supervise senior resident who leads clinical educational activities during morning reports for the service being covered

Description of Job Duty

Supervise medical students and psychiatric residents on clinical psychiatry rotation in accordance with department, LCGME and ACGME policies.

Prepare and present formal lectures for psychiatry residents, psychology trainees, and medical students as required by the Department.

Department will support the development of a research program in their area(s) of interest
