Position Summary

The Division of Nephrology seeks an Assistant Professor to join the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program. The successful candidate will join a team consisting of 5 transplant nephrologists in support of the largest kidney transplant program in the Midwest Transplant Network’s Service Area. University of Kansas Hospital has been ranked in the top 50 best hospitals for care of patients with kidney disorders by U.S. News & World Report for 7 consecutive years. The candidate will be a member of The Kidney Institute (KI) at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The KI is one of the leading basic science and clinical/translational kidney research centers in the country and receives over $7 million in NIH funding annually. Existing areas of research strength include polycystic kidney diseases, glomerular development and diseases, mineral metabolism and health outcomes research.

Required Qualifications

MD or equivalent degree required; completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and fellowship training program in nephrology and transplant is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have clinical research experience.
