Position Summary

The Ophthalmology department is searching for leader to become the Director of Retina Services. This position will be ranked as Associate or Full Professor, depending on candidate credentials. Position includes sharing in the responsibility, with existing faculty, for Retina clinical service, didactic and clinical training of residents and opportunities for basic and clinical research.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must be licensed in the State of Kansas or eligible for licensure in Kansas, board certified in Ophthalmology, have successfully completed a surgical retina fellowship, have a demonstrated record of progressively responsible leadership in clinical activities and administrative roles, have strong organizational skills, have the ability to coordinate multiple task simultaneously and be able to manage competing and shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Academic background involving teaching with interest in clinical or basic research is preferred. Successful experience in growing own research programs with the ability to obtain funding from public and private sources is desired.
