Position Summary

Full-time, Basic Science, Tenure-track position to develop and conduct an independent research program, teach medical and graduate students, and serve the KUMC community.

Required Qualifications

PhD, and/or M.D., and/or D.V.M., and/or D.D.S. in one of the biological sciences and postdoctoral research experience in developmental biology.

Preferred Qualifications

Individuals researching problems related to kidney, cardiovascular, cancer biology, or the neurosciences are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Develop and maintain an externally funded research program in the area of developmental biology, broadly defined. Establish collaborations with KUMC colleagues and others.

Description of Job Duty

Participate in team teaching medical human gross anatomy and graduate courses in the Anatomy and Cell Biology Department’s programs and the KUMC Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Basic Science. Prepare course content, present lectures, participate in small group teaching of medical students and mentor graduate students.

Description of Job Duty

Serve on committees at KUMC and Cell Biology and the School of Medicine, i.e., serve on academic or service committees and contribute to other projects assigned by the Chairman.

Description of Job Duty

Collaborate with internal and external investigators in area of expertise. Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
